Here is a brief introduction for your press releases to secular media:
This year, [add your community here] is taking part in a special nationwide celebration of the festival of Shavuot. The holiday Shavuot marks the receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai and the gathering of the first fruits of the spring harvest. Across North America, this has been a time when Jewish people get together to study the Torah and many other sacred texts. As part of the National Unity Shavuot, a project by the New York based CLAL - The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, communities will join together across denominational boundaries for celebration and dialogue. For more information, you may visit the Web site www.shavuot.org.

Monday, May 10th the Westside Jewish Community will be preparing for two revelations:
Shavuot
Orthodox, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Reform Jews Studying Together
It will once again be as if we are all standing at Sinai. Members of our entire community, led by rabbis from every movement, will spend the evening together, studying the Torah texts of revelation. Perhaps this experience of studying as one Jewish community will make the earth shake, the mountain smoke, and bring about a revelation of its own.
This event is being sponsored by the Board of Rabbis and CLAL
